You will be given a choice of various heroes with unique abilities and weapons to kill the alien minions. Soul Knight has an intuitive gameplay and user-friendly controls. In the start of the game, you will need to pick a hero. In the beginning, only a single hero is available to you while all the others are locked. You can unlock them by spending coins that you earn by playing the game. In addition to this, you can also unlock them by spending real money to purchase them. After you have selected your hero, you need to exit the living room through the door to start playing the game.

The controls for moving your hero are located on the bottom-left corner of the screen. You will have to move the dot in order to move your hero. The controls for shooting are available on the bottom-right corner of the screen. You only need to tap on this aim button and the auto-aim feature of the game will take over, killing any alien minion in your vicinity. The other two options you will find on the bottom-right corner of the screen are your weapons cache and energy. The energy is required for using the unique ability of your hero while the weapons are what you use for shooting the aliens.

Soul Knight offers a different dungeon environment each time you play a new game. So, it is a different experience each time you play a new game. A mini-map on the right-hand side of the screen shows the dungeon environment you are present in. The mission in each level is to kill all the enemies that are present in the dungeon and then find your way back to the living room. You will find chests in each level which will provide you an item. It can either be a health pot, a new weapon or coins. In order to open a chest or interact with the other things that you see in this dungeon shooter, you will have to click on the Exclamation mark button. This button replaces the aim button when you are near a thing you can interact with in the game.

You can stop the game at any point while playing by clicking the pause button that is located at the top-right corner of the screen. It will open up the pause menu which contains options for going to the home screen of the game, resuming the game and Settings. The other options included in this pause menu include music controls, sound controls, navigation controls, gameplay controls and share.
